Sculpter l’invisible
Rachel sculpte le souffle, l’absence et les sueurs froides. Ses machines complexes constituent l’étrange industrie de nos petits désastres et de nos grâces fragiles. L’émotion se fige quand on tente de la saisir et l’eau devient givre. Juste avant le givre, il y a le doute. Car le monde nous fuit. Rachel a inventé une frontière entre la grâce de sentir et le drame de n’y rien comprendre. Là, désincarnée, elle se poste, armée de fils de cuivre et capture le pied fugitif de Cendrillon à l’instant où la magie cesse. Elle prend aussi dans ses filets les rafales du vent. Le lien friable de l’homme à l’élément saisi par son implacable hameçon. La sensualité est traquée. L’esprit invoqué. Pourquoi? Que cache la matière? Dans l’athanor, les alchimistes fondaient les métaux pour séparer le subtil du grossier. Brassant les phénomènes, Rachel guette son point d’orgue, un lieu de connivence avec le monde. Sculpting invisible matter.
Rachel sculpts breath, void and cold sweats. Her complex machines are the embodiment of our little tragedies and our fragile graces. Emotions freeze when one attempt to contain them and water becomes frost. Just before frost, there is doubt. Because the world seems to escape us. Rachel has bridged the gap between the beauty of emotion and the tragedy of not understanding them. There, she stands disembodied, armed with copper threads, and captures Cinderella’s fleeting foot at the precise moment when the magic cease to be. In her nets, she seizes the gust of the winds. The frail link that bonds men to the elements is caught by her relentless fishing hook. Using the kiln of an alchemist, sensuality is hunted down. The spirit invoked. Why? What is behind the material? Alchemists used to transmute metals, extracting the noble from the rough. Brewing diverse substances, Rachel awaits for the moment when she will find a secret understanding with the world. Baroja. Exhibition.
